Covid-19: Preparing to Re-open

We have had a very quiet time over the months since March since we’ve been closed due to Covid-19, enjoying our Slice of Highland Heaven. But we’ve also been busy preparing the Steading for re-opening and working hard especially in the garden. Over the last 6 weeks or so, our self-catering industry, with multi organisational input, has been working incredibly hard designing robust policies and guidelines to enable self-catering properties to re-open. These will enable our guests to have a fabulous experience, whilst providing them with as much protection as possible.

We believe it is the responsibility of every self-catering owner to ensure that they and their properties comply with health and safety legislation. Especially now in relation to Covid-19. This is an additional consideration beyond our existing responsibilities.

We are members of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers and they have worked with other professional associations and the Scottish Government, to develop a strict cleaning protocol for self-catering. It is these guidelines and protocols that we are following. We have also been certified “Good to Go” from Visit Scotland.

The open space, seclusion and privacy at Pinewood Steading make it a perfect place to enjoy a safe break. It is important that we are able to provide a safe environment for you. Likewise, we have to ensure the safety of our team and community. We hope this gives you confidence in staying with us.

In preparation to open, we have undertaken a risk assessment. We’ve also produced a cleaning checklist in accordance with newly launched industry standards from Scottish Government and our professional association, the ASSC. We successfully passed an online training course in Covid-19 Holiday Let Cleaning Protocols. And acquired the Industry Standard Visit Scotland “Good to Go” mark that means Pinewood has followed government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, has a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

We also decided to bring in a flexible, no hassle booking cancellation policy. We are still requesting 20% deposit of your total rental to secure your booking. But full balance will not be due until 1 week before your arrival date. And should we be unable to welcome you due to further Covid-19 restrictions, we will refund your money in full. No quibble.

We really hope these measures will give our guests confidence in booking with and staying at Pinewood Steading.
