On the first day of Christmas, Pinewood Steading gave to me… Cawdor Castle!
Dating from the late 14th century, Cawdor Castle was built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor (cue William Shakespeare and Macbeth!)
There is so much to see on a visit. Step into the castle filled with beautiful furniture, fine portraits, intriguing objects and amazing tapestries. There are 3, yes 3, gardens to explore, or go adventuring in Cawdor Big Wood or putting on the nine-hole golf course. Or take in a Shakespearian play in the Summer on the lawns of the Castle. It’s a truly extraordinary place.
