On the fifth day of Christmas, Pinewood Steading gave to me – Inverness!
The capital of the Highlands and only a 20 mins drive. And what a drive, right alongside the Beauly Firth and crossing the Caledonian Canal. On the way back, you often have to pull over in the car to get photos! Inverness has it all. From shops, Victorian Market and lots of cafes and restaurants to the Castle. Some interesting architecture like the Town House. The best ever bookshop Leakey’s. And let’s not forget a walk around Ness Islands or the Merkinch Nature Reserve, a trip to the (free entry) Botanical Gardens or to watch a play at Eden Court.
