On the eighth day of Christmas, Pinewood Steading gave to me.. Reelig Glen!

A true local gem, just a 5 minute car drive or a 30 minute walk from Pinewood. Wonderful at all times of the year, it’s a local community wood that offers so much. There are a number of possibilities to explore the woods through a network of formal and informal paths.

There’s a wonderful river, some unique ‘fairy’ bridges, some of the tallest trees in Britain, a community log shelter and some hidden gems for the youngsters amongst us. Spring is the perfect time for foraging wild garlic (we call it Ramsons in Scotland); in Autumn the colours are breathtaking; and it’s a haven for mushrooms! It’s also the best place to spot red squirrels!
