On the ninth day of Christmas, Pinewood Steading gave to me… Applecross and Torridon!

This Day of Christmas brings to you many famous and iconic parts of the Highlands. This is another road trip from Pinewood Steading taking in Loch Maree, Torridon, Applecross and the infamous Bealach na Ba. The view of Loch Maree from the road towards Torridon is one of the most photographed iconic shots of the Highlands. This loch is the largest loch in the North-West Highlands and the viewpoint offers an excellent chance to take in the view and grab a photo. The loch itself has more than 60 islands!

Head off next to take in the amazing sights of the Torridon mountain range, before taking the coastal route around Applecross. Your jaw really will be dropping here. And when you see the famous red roofed cottage, your trip will be made!

From here, only the best and courageous drivers attempt the famous windy road over the Bealach na Ba.
